Police chief compliments festivals for lack of drama

DOVER - Police chief Randy Johnson told the selectboard on Tuesday that two recent festivals held in town, the Original Green Mountain Cannabis Fest and the Angry Orchard Rock the Roots Tour at Mount Snow, were without much drama.
The Original Green Mountain Cannabis Festival, which was organized by  Sandy MacDougall, who hosted the event at his inn, Layla’s Riverside Lodge, was much discussed in the town. In May, MacDougall and Jim Desrochers asked the board to sponsor the festival through the town’s economic development funds. The board ultimately denied the request.
