New hydrant brings expanded fire protection to Higley Hill area

WILMINGTON - The Wilmington Fire Department has installed a dry fire hydrant at Adams Farm. The new hydrant, which is situated on Higley Hill Road, will enhance water access for fighting fires in the surrounding area.
At the firehouse a couple of weeks post-installation, fire chief Scott Moore calls the hydrant a “godsend,” noting how difficult water was to come by before the hydrant. Assistant fire chief Bill Spirka agrees.
