WARDSBORO- Wardsboro Curtain Call Inc. announces the lineup for this years music series and opens with Las Vegas singer-songwriter Toney Rocks on Saturday, May 19.
Rocks delivers an intimate concert exploding with diversity featuring his soulful singing supported by acoustic guitars, ukulele, and piano. Rocks’ songwriting is steeped in folk, blues, and rock influences which has led to Rocks sharing the stage as a guest with folk music legend David Bromberg. In addition to headlining concerts around the United States, he has opened for artists such as Corey Harris and Jarekus Singleton.

On Friday,  June 22, The Wyld Nightz Band returns for the annual dance party.  Founding members Michael McKinney (guitar, trumpet, vocals) and Jeff Brewer (guitar, vocals) have worked to emphasize dance music with exciting ensemble playing.  Fred “Freighttrain” Epstein (drums) and Matt Martyn (bass guitar) anchor the rhythm section, while keyboard duties and vocals are covered by Tony Speranza.  Guests are invited to bring a favorite dish for a potluck supper before the show. Doors open at 6 pm for supper.  Admission is $15 at the door.
On Saturday, September 29, the Gail Wade Trio takes the stage. During the past 20-plus years, Wade has gained the respect of audiences throughout the United States, Ireland, and several European countries. A strong guitarist and clawhammer banjo player with a rich and soulful voice, Wade brings fresh renditions of folk, blues, old-time, bluegrass, and swing favorites. Though steeped in the roots of American music, her diverse array of influences enables Wade to handle the transition from one musical genre to the next, with a fluidity that will foster a true appreciation of her talent.
The final show in the series is scheduled for Saturday, October 20, and features Dan Frechette and Laurel Thomsen.  Meeting via a chance YouTube sighting and fueled by a once-in-a-lifetime musical chemistry and friendship, this Canadian-American duo merges prodigious players with songwriting that sets them apart.  With violin, diverse guitar styles, compelling storytelling, a dash of harmonica and humor, and unique vocal chemistry, Frechette and Thomsen present a polished, engaging performance. With broad influences ranging from folk, classical, old time and Celtic, to gospel, jazz, vintage country, rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and bluegrass, Frechette and Thomsen flow seamlessly through genres, tempos, stories, and moods, embodying each style with virtuosic command and keeping music fans on the edge of their seats.
All shows are in the Wardsboro Town Hall  on Main Street, and feature excellent refreshments and BYOB.  Doors open at 6:30 pm, except for the June 22 dance party when they will open at 6 pm for the potluck supper. General admission is $10 at the door.
