Enchanting concert

WILMINGTON- On Saturday, June 23, at 8 pm, the Southern Vermont Deerfield Valley Jazz Concert Series continues with “Playing for Change.”  Christopher Bakriges’ Clear and  Present Quartet will perform in concert at Historic Memorial Hall, 14 West Main Street, to benefit Food4Kids.  
Bakriges and his Clear and Present Quartet, comprising of Jay Hoggard, Billy Arnold, and Avery Sharpe, are versatile artists who have been recognized by the likes of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, McCoy Tyner, and Motown Records. Bakriges focuses on innovating while honoring tradition and, best known for his knowledge of jazz, chamber, and global creation, is creating a style all his own rooted in his studies.
Bakriges encompasses the jazz tradition in all its glory. He is an educator and artist in residence at Elms College and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is artistic director of the Deerfield Valley Southern Vermont Jazz Festival.
