Curtain opens to Wyld Nightz
WARDSBORO- On Friday, June 22, the Wyld Nightz Band will perform at the Wardsboro Curtain Call’s annual dance party.
The dance party will be held in the Town Hall Café on Main Street. There will be a potluck supper before the show, doors will open at 6 pm, and music begins at 7 pm. Participants are invited to bring a favorite dish to share and some dancing shoes. This event is BYOB. Admission is $15 at the door.
This year, the music series also serves as a fundraising vehicle benefiting Wardsboro Fire and Rescue. A “Fireman’s Boot” will be present for all those who wish to make a contribution.
The band’s founding members Michael McKinney, (guitar, trumpet, vocals) and Jeff Brewer, (guitar, vocals) have worked to emphasize dance music with exciting ensemble playing. Fred “Freighttrain” Epstein (drums) and Matt Martyn (bass guitar) anchor the rhythm section, while keyboard duties and vocals are covered by Tony Speranza. Anthony Speranza Jr. appears regularly on alto and tenor saxophones.
With over 150 years of combined performing experience, the Wyld Nightz Band has won best band honors in 2015, 2016 and 2017 Best of Brattleboro Reader’s Choice Awards.
Other shows in the Wardsboro Curtain Call 2018 music series include singer-songwriter Bruce Mandel Friday, July 27; Gail Wade trio Saturday, September 29; Dan Frechette and Laurel Thomsen Saturday, October 20.
