This is not the first time I have encouraged people to shop local but with all the uncertainty in the valley about the Hermitage I think buying local is even more important. There are many individuals and businesses that are owed money so every dollar spent in the valley will have a real impact. I’ve read that for every $100 spent, $68 will stay and be recirculated. Shop out of town or online and that money never comes back.
So, think about heading to WW instead of spending time and money going to Brattleboro or Keene. Instead of just going to Shaw’s patronize local grocers like Blue Mountain Produce, Snow Mountain Market or River Valley Market. Go out to dinner here, many local restaurants are having some great specials! Hire local contractors, buy gifts from our stores or artists and crafters. I guarantee you can make a difference to their bottom lines. If we want goods and services available in the valley we need to help them stay.
