To the Editor,

Hey, Wilmingtonians, look at page 58 in this month’s Woman’s Day magazine (the one with the green holiday cover). One of our own local women is being featured. Julie Lineberger was winner of their national Women Entrepreneurs Contest, and won a prize of $2,500. Together with her husband, Joseph Cincotta, they have completed construction of the first fully functional Wheel Pad prototype and it is in use in Putney.

The article describes the 200-square foot space built on a flatbed trailer that could be delivered nearly anywhere and then connected to the electricity and plumbing of an existing house. The one in Putney was installed right beside the garden of the wheelchair bound patient’s house. It is free of charge to this family friend who fractured two neck vertebrae while boogie boarding.

Eventually, the plan is to manufacture these models in Wilmington and ship them nationwide. They just sold their first one this week to a patient in Beacon, NY. Woman’s Day featured Julie because as CEO of Linesync Architecture, she is the one who made this project happen.

Kudos to her!

Claudette Hollenbeck
