Wings Community Programs would like to thank the local community and friends from afar who have generously donated time, money, and support to after-school programming. From the person who dropped an extra $10 in the donation box at one of the last six Performing Arts Productions, to the larger annual gifts... we thank you.
Dollar-for-dollar, Wings is required to match the 21st-Century Community Learning Center grant we receive from the state. That translates into approximately $16,000 that must come from the generosity of our communities. These gifts come from friends, neighbors and corporate donations.
Locally, larger gifts have come from corporate and charitable sources like TransCanada, the Rotary Club, Mount Snow, Dot’s and others.
However, the generosity reaches beyond the edges of our valley. Russ and Carol Weber learned about Wings in 2008. Inspired by the passion and potential they saw in Wings’ programming, they shared their experience with the JM Smith Foundation. The JM Smith Foundation is a South Carolina-based nonprofit organization that agreed to expand their giving to include southern Vermont. This foundation and the Webers have generously donated to Wings ever since. It is what has helped Wings sustain its programming these past few years.
We thank them for their support.
From the Wings team and the students they serve, we wish to thank the Halifax, Readsboro, Whitingham, and Wilmington communities, businesses, and local charities, as well as Russ and Carol Weber and the JM Smith Foundation, who continue to recognize the benefits of quality after-school and summer programming with financial and volunteer support.
