To the Editor,

An open letter to Gov Phil Scott:

Do you really know what’s going on in VTrans? Who made the decision to tear up a perfectly good road for resurfacing while one nearby in dire need of upkeep goes untouched?

I speak specifically about the resurfacing of the East-West section of Route 9 from just west of Hogback Mountain through Wilmington to the top of Searsburg, a section which is probably one of the better surfaced roads in Vermont, while Route 100 from Wilmington to Dover is broken pavement and badly patched potholes.

If I were a skier looking for a winter rental I would definitely steer clear of Mount Snow, especially if I have to approach from Wilmington. I would try the Killington area which has much easier and smoother access.

A few people I have spoken to mention “kickback.” Someone is making money from this fiasco.

Sincerely yours,

Tiido Tennelo

Wilmington
