To the Editor,

The Deerfield Valley News editorial and the report from June 15 of the recent Wilmington Selectboard meeting certainly sheds light on the serious situation with which the town is confronted regarding the Hermitage corporation and its considerable overdue taxes.

Selectboard member John Gannon was quoted “if every taxpayer did that, how would we run the town until the February tax payment …” and further commented that “in order to meet its expenses the town may need to borrow money or raise taxes.”

We are glad to see the Valley News report on this situation and hope that there will be continual coverage in the future.

Thank you,

Bruce and Barbara D. Cole
