Mr. True was born in New Haven, CT, on October 1, 1962, and was the son of the late Richard and Patricia Ann (O’Brien) True. He received his education in local schools.
Mr. True was employed at Sawyer Bentwood Wood Products, in Whitingham, as a machine operator. He later worked at Snow Resorts in the maintenance department. He married the former Maria Allen Powers on June 7, 2003.
Mr. True enjoyed shooting pool, loved British sports cars, and has had several MGs and Triumphs, over the years. He was an avid reader and Stephen King was his favorite author. He always had three or four books going at one time. Mr. True was a movie buff, and loved being on the computer, but nothing was more important than time spent with family and especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Allen Powers; four children; Tasha Treloar, of Middletown, CT; Justinn Powers, of Bennington; Jay Powers (Katie Small), of West Dover; and Gabrielle True of Bennington. He leaves his four grandchildren; Kayla, Jayden, Tyson and Brianna, as well as two sisters, Tracy (Joseph) Niemczyk and Trisha True, both of Wilmington. He also has several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who survive.
He is predeceased by his parents and one brother, Scott True, and his step-father John Robinson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, at 12 pm, at the First Baptist Church, VT Route 100, in Wilmington.
There are no calling hours scheduled. Interment will take place in Connecticut.
The Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington is assisting the family at this time.
