Since our area is unique in Vermont as it contains two major ski mountains and at least two very large bodies of water - with Lake Whitingham being the largest body of water contained entirely within the state, I think the name chosen should emphasize that. So here’s my recommendation:
Vermont’s Mountain and Lakes region.
We could also call it: Southern Vermont’s Mountain and Lakes region but I don’t think it’s necessary since Vermont is so tiny anyway. With all due respect to the editors of this paper, I think that “Mount Snow Region” sounds very corporate, not at all Vermont, and brings to mind the name of an airport or the title of a phone book and it doesn’t evoke anything other than Mount Snow.
The region needs to move away from that and any marketing theme must be broad enough to encompass all that this beautiful area has to offer.
