BRATTLEBORO- Area coin and sports card collectors welcome stamp and comic book collectors at the Family Hobby Show on Saturday, May 11, from 8 am to 3 pm, at the Holiday Inn Express on Chickering Drive. Many dealers and collectors from the tristate area meet monthly for a scholarship auction, coupled with a daylong series of hobby activities that is packed with fun for the whole family. Besides the usual offerings of coins, currency, stamps, and sports cards, there will be a special quiz for collectors at the coin club table.

Anyone reaching into the collectable grab bag and selecting a free Indian head cent or buffalo nickel will be able to double their prize if they can say who was president in the year the coin was minted. The Indian head cents were issued from 1859 until 1909 while the buffalo nickels were released from 1913 to 1938. Other door prizes will also be available for hobbyist of all ages.

The show continues on the second Saturday of each month. This month, organizers are happy to have vintage and modern comic books presented by a local collector as well as a very large presentation of collectable coins and stamps.

There is no admission charge. Anyone wishing to set up a table to sell their materials should call Joe Fuller at (802) 297-1274.
