To the Editor,

My experience as a previous Whitingham School Director, paraprofessional (K-12), high school tutor, member of an early facilities committee, and currently a substitute in the Halifax School all enable me to bring a unique perspective to the position of school director.

The collaboration is now a K-12 system. Renovations at DVES and soon to start at Twin Valley Middle School in Whitingham are just the beginning of a new path for all of us. “Build it and they will come” is a great line from the movies, but the school board now has an obligation to the students and the townspeople to deliver not only a new gym and renovated buildings, but, more importantly, an education that competes with the surrounding larger schools while keeping it affordable to taxpayers. Education is a priority with me and in these economic times looking at the whole picture and keeping our taxes affordable is a challenge I want to work on.

I am asking for your vote to give me a chance to work for you.

Mary Lemaire
