She became Guilford Town Clerk in 1971, a post she held until her retirement in 1984, after which she served a while as assistant town clerk. Guilford honored her in 1983 by dedicating their town report to her. Mrs. Carpenter was honored in 2000 with the Vermont Secretary of State’s Public Service Award. The family wishes to thank the staff at Pine Heights for their kind care and support of the family.

A celebration of her long and honorable life will be held on Saturday, January 26, at 10 am at the Guilford Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Broad Brook Grange, 3940 Guilford Center Road, Guilford, VT 05301, or to a charity of choice.
