To the Editor:

We at Vermont Valley Tae Kwon Do wish to again thank those people that continue to help us in our recovery. Many businesses were affected by Tropical Storm Irene and some were affected as a result of Irene. We are a small business like many others and we appreciate everything that people have done for us. We recently received an unexpected gift from Bartleby’s Books in Wilmington. They had Yvonne Daly do a reprinting of her book “A Mighty Storm.” Bartleby’s agreed to donate 20% of their sales to a local charity and through the kindness of Bartleby’s and the recommendation of Susie Haughwout we received a wonderful gift to help with our water damage.

We also want to remember to thank everyone who previously helped us, the Deerfield Valley Rotary, The Human Web, Friends of the Valley, Twice Blessed, and our own students (especially Alexa and the Huntley family, and the Messing family) who helped with fund raisers or loans to carry us forward till we did get funding to pay them back. We continue to support the community in any way we can and see that the feeling is mutual. Thank you to everyone.

Master Jeanette Toro-Linnehan and Michael Linnehan
