WILMINGTON- Larry L. Bratton, 56, a resident of Old Town Road, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Wednesday, December 19. Mr. Bratton was born in Townshend on May 18, 1956, the son of Ernest John and Norma (Wheeler) Bratton. He grew up in Townshend where he attended Leland & Gray School. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army where he served four years. Mr. Bratton had worked in the construction industry throughout most of his life. He had worked for Ralph Ruprecht and John Chadwick, for Bob North at North Air and Mount Snow Airport where he maintained the facility and had operated a garage door opener business. In addition, he had worked at The Sitzmark as a greenskeeper and maintained the machinery, and also worked with “Fizz” Papps at Valley Transportation Services, which eventually became the MOOver.

Mr. Bratton enjoyed fishing, hunting, panning for gold, and following NASCAR. His favorite driver was Tony Stewart. He had attended races in Loudon, NH, and enjoyed collecting race memorabilia.

He leaves his wife, Karen (Savory) Bratton who he married September 9, 1990; son, Jacob Amidon, of Missouri; daughters, Megan and Cassie Bratton, both of Wilmington; brother, Lanny Bratton, of Salem, NY; sisters Geraldine Farrar, of Chester, Lorraine Lee, of Colorado, and Mary Bratton, of Chester; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, John, and sister, Jennie.
