BELLOWS FALLS- Elizabeth Rogers is a rare talent. Opera singer turned singer/songwriter, she will be performing in the Stone Church Arts concert series at 7:30 pm, Saturday, November 24. The chapel of Immanuel Episcopal Church, 20 Church Street, provides an intimate setting to experience her soaring voice and gifted songwriting.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Rogers started singing at the age of 9 with the New York City Opera and the Metropolitan Opera companies. Since leaving her hometown she has toured internationally as a classical and jazz singer. In 2000 she moved to the north of Scotland, where she spent most of the following decade living in an intentional community called Findhorn. It was there that she found her voice as a songwriter and subsequently produced two albums of music: “One Fine Day” (2004) and “Breathe and Begin” (2010). She is often compared to Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell, writing songs of life stories and the search for home.

In 2009 Rogers returned to the United States, and has continued to tour occasionally. Visit her website at www.elizabethrogers.com for more information.
