Tough Mudder is a rapidly growing company that is scheduling more and more events every year and it is challenging for them to accommodate preferred dates for so many different locations. Although Mount Snow and Tough Mudder tried to secure a date in May or June, in the end it just wasn’t feasible.
It was estimated that the 2012 Tough Mudder events brought a very conservative $2.7 million in direct spending to the valley. Although August may have been the second choice, Mount Snow is thrilled to see Tough Mudder return to the region for another event.
Some might also be wondering if there will be two events like there were during the summer of 2012. According to Mount Snow officials, that decision is at the discretion of Tough Mudder organizers and they need to let Mount Snow know at least four months prior to the first event if they plan to add a second weekend to the schedule. If they decide to add a second event it will most likely occur the following weekend, August 17 and 18.
Mount Snow officials assured that when it comes time to negotiate the 2014 Tough Mudder contract they will try to secure dates in either May or June. It is Mount Snow’s objective to ensure that Tough Mudder returns to the area for as long as possible.
