HALIFAX- Raise the roof with Snake Mountain Bluegrass, a long-standing Vermont bluegrass-style band from Addison County. The concert will benefit the Halifax Community Hall, which is in need of a new roof. Greg Humphrey, who lives on the side of Snake Mountain, was once asked what kind of bluegrass the band played, and answered “Snake Mountain Bluegrass,” thus the name. Humphrey plays guitar, Mike Connnor, banjo, Freeman Corey, fiddle, Earle Provin, mandolin and resophonic guitar, Randy Kirby, electric bass, and Greg Humphrey, guitar.

Also appearing with the band will be the Connor Sisters. Katie plays guitar, Monica plays fiddle, and Megan provides many lead vocals, including a Patsy Cline tune and several gospel style and country/bluegrass classsics.

The concert will be held at the Halifax Community Hall, a historic 1844 building, at the corner of Branch and Brook roads, on Sunday, October 28, from 2 to 4:30 pm. Refreshments will be sold, and tickets for the concert will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 through 12, and free for 5 years and under.
