Putney- Valentine’s Day offers a perfect weekend of opportunities for celebrating music of the heart at The Putney Inn.
Jazzberry Jam and their boogie-woogie rhythms will be performing at the Putney Inn Tavern, Friday, February 12, from 8 to 11 pm, with no cover charge. Bassist Jay Cook will be joined by clarinetist and saxophonist Walter Slowinski , guitarist Bill Conley, and drummer Jeremy Holch. Their repertoire includes jazz, pop and R&B standards, as well as original jazz. Music will start at 6:30 pm and will play until 10 pm.
National recording artist Jill Connelly will be performing in the restaurant at the Putney Inn on Saturday, February 13, with music starting at 6 pm and playing until 9:30 pm. Connelly has been performing professionally in blues, rock, R&B, a cappella gospel, jazz, pop, children’s music, and jingles. Her successful voice-over career blends beautifully with her singing career, though she claims she’s happiest when singing. Her CD “Venus in Transit” highlights her jazz-infused recordings with Eugene Uman, bassist Jamie MacDonald, and drummer Claire Arenius. Connelly’s performance will be complemented by guitarist extraordinaire Joe Belmont who is as adept with jazz as he is flamenco.
The Putney Inn will feature a Valentine’s brunch on Sunday, February 14, with pianist J.C. Donelson accompanying diners from 11 am to 2:30 pm.
