All are invited to a visual presentation of the Joudrys’ historic photos and personal history of the site. There has been a fire tower on Stratton since 1914 as well as being the site of inspiration for both the Long Trail in Vermont and as the birthplace of the famed Appalachian Trail, which runs from Georgia to Maine.
The presentation will include the history of the local Stratton Mountain Club, which built the first hiking trail and tower on Stratton, as well as the forest they have watched over and protected for so many years, right up to the present time.
The talk will be held on Sunday, October 22, at 3 pm at the Wardsboro Public Library, 170 Main Street. For information call (802) 896-6988.
