Dear Editor,

The Halifax Firemen would like to thank all those who helped to make our 44 annual Clambake such a success. Thanks to all those who supported the event by their attendance. Thanks to all the businesses in Brattleboro and the Deerfield Valley area for donating money and prizes to the multi item fund-raising raffle. Thanks to Foster’s Market of Greenfield for being so helpful in accommodating us with our food order. Thanks to the firemen and their spouses and family members who volunteered their time to do all the work behind the scenes especially on the day of the clambake but also for weeks in advance as well as the less enjoyable task of cleaning up for several days afterward. Halifax has an exceptional group of firemen who have worked together for years. There is great camaraderie amongst the workers and everyone knows exactly to do. There are so many details to be taken care of and so many people who helped to make it all happen that it would be impossible to mention each person by name. It was a profitable event, it was a lot of work, but it was a lot of fun and we hope it was a great time for all those who attended this year’s clambake and supported the various raffle events. Thanks to everyone for a job well done and we hope to see everyone next year.

Lewis Sumner, Clambake Chairman

The Halifax Fire Company, Inc.
