To the Editor,

Wow, what a great 10 days of fun in the valley for the seventh annual Blueberry Festival! I personally would like to thank everyone that came out for the Blueberry Jell-O Opening Ceremonies at the Sitzmark on July 25. We counted 425 people celebrating and stomping.

Without help from the following people and businesses we wouldn’t have been able to turn our toes blue: Thanks to Steve Butler and his crew at North Star Bowling Alley for expertly making 50 buckets of jello. The Sitzmark crew, for being gracious hosts, Rite Aid, for the festive blue balloons, Janet Boyd and The Boyd Family Farm, crew for all they do. The Valley View Saloon, for last minute extra buckets. Brian Johnson and Donnie Wilson, of Wilmington Fire Department, for their water supply. My family for all of their patience and running around. And finally a big thank you to all the people I rounded up that night to help set-up and clean-up.

It is so nice to see what a community can pull off when we all work together.I can’t wait for next year!
