To the Editor,

It is with deep gratitude that I write the following letter of commendation and praise.

One late Sunday evening last month my husband called the Deerfield Valley Rescue because I was experiencing severe chest pains.

Six Deerfield Valley Rescue people and two ambulances arrived in a matter of minutes. Eric St. Denis, Molly Corse, Aaron Massari, Mike Stevens, Donnie Wilson, and Pete Bernard were very professional and sensitive to the situation. After a few important procedures I was taken by ambulance to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Before we left our home my husband was apprised by the Deerfield Valley Rescue folks that the ambulance would probably stop a couple of times to confirm medical data and that he should not be alarmed.

A few minutes after arrival at SVMC it was decided that I would be airlifted to Albany Med. Every member of the Deerfield Valley Rescue who had provided care and driven me over the mountain checked in with me and wished me well before I was loaded into the helicopter.

Eleven days and two operations later I returned to our beloved valley to begin the recuperation process.

The Deerfield Valley is indeed blessed and fortunate to have such a professional, caring, and well-equipped emergency medical provider as the Deerfield Valley Rescue Service.

My family and I are so very grateful for all the care and kindnesses provided by these six heroes who remain in my daily prayers of thanks.

Most sincerely,

Vanda N. Warner, Lee Peters, Tacy Lincoln, and Dana Homer
