WILMINGTON- Kenneth S. Hunkler, 72, a resident of Wilmington Cross Road, died Saturday, June 28, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.

Mr. Hunkler was born in Adams, MA, on December 9, 1941, the son of the late Clifford and Mildred (Hathaway) Hunkler.

He was a graduate of Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, MA, and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for the town of Whitingham for many years, was a driver for the MOOver, and worked security for the Hinsdale, NH, racetrack.

Mr. Hunkler was a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. He was a true outdoors man who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was the former constable for Whitingham and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Hunkler is survived by his wife, the former Sally Gray, of Whitingham, whom he married on November 30, 1985 in Colrain, MA; daughter, Tina Montonye, of Kansas; son, Kenny Hunkler, of Pennsylvania; stepsons Nathan Clark, of Heath, MA, and Kyle Clark, of Hawley, MA; brothers, Stewart and Lyman Hunkler; sisters, Evelyn and Flora; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Charlotte and Fran and brother Oscar.

Memorial services for Mr. Hunkler will be held Saturday, July 5, at 1 pm, in the Community Church of Whitingham Vestry. There are no visiting hours.
