BRATTLEBORO- Special guests Moussa Traore and Solo Sana, both from Mali, will teach a drum class followed by a dance class at Brattleboro Stone Church on June 18. Traore’s drum class will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, and Sana’s dance class will be from 7:30 to 9 pm.

Starting on June 25, welcome back master Guinean drummer Namory Keita, who will resume his weekly drum classes for all levels at the Brattleboro Stone Church. The new time for the class is 6:15 to 7:15 pm, and the dance class will follow at the new time of 7:15 to 8:45 pm. The cost of Keita’s drum class is $10 and he will have drums available for those who need them.

The 10th annual Abene African Dance and Drum Festival is also coming to Brattleboro, August 22 to the 24, featuring Caro Diallo, Pape Ba, Kabisko Kaba, and Keita.

The cost is on a sliding scale from $12 to $15 for the drum class and $15 to $20 for the dance class. All levels are welcome.
