WILMINGTON-The Great American Songbook Concert Series continues at Memorial Hall on Saturday, June 21, beginning at 8 pm. The monthly series began last month to call attention to and aid charitable organizations in and around the Deerfield Valley. This month the proceeds from the concert will benefit the Food Pantry.

Musical director Chris Bakriges, a pianist and composer living in southern Vermont, will feature jazz music inspired from the Great American Songbook: the most popular and enduring songs of the 1920s to 1950s.

Bakriges is joined this month by musicians from three states as well as a guest artist from Karlsruhe, in the state of Baden-W├╝rttemberg, in southwest Germany. The musicians include Massachusetts bassist Mark Dunlap, Vermont saxophonist Steve MacLauchlan, New York drummer Marcel Smith, and German guitarist Matthias Ockert.

Memorial Hall is located at 14 West Main Street. Tickets are free and donations will be accepted.
