Ms. McKibbin was born on December 29, 1946, to William and Mary Niebergall in New York, NY.
Ms. McKibbin earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fordham University in New York, NY, while working full time. After working at various medical advertising agencies, she founded and operated a pharmaceutical media company.
After retiring from the industry in 2003, she thoroughly loved spending her time split between Florida and Vermont.
She enjoyed playing golf and her passion for winning was evident in her many trips to Mohegan Sun with her gambling partners Francis and Jackie.
One of her lifelong passions was a love for all animals, especially dogs and horses.
All who knew her admired her strength, resilience, and tenacity, which became especially evident in her fight to advance cancer research in the last 18 months.
She was a strong activist and pioneer for the advancement of women in the workplace.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert DiVirgilio and daughter Denise Boden. Survivors include two daughters, Dawn McKibbin, of Ormond Beach, FL, and Debbie Surace, of Long Island, NY; one sister’ Barbara (Frank) Morano, of Ormond Beach, her former husband Richard W. McKibbin, of Ormond Beach, FL; and her beloved poodle Nikki.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
