BRATTLEBORO- Susan A. Carroll, 62, a resident of Cheney Brook Road, Dover, died Saturday, May 10, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Carroll was born in Brattleboro on January 24, 1952, the daughter of Alfred L. and Lavern (Dove) Corey. She attended Halifax schools and graduated salutatorian from Whitingham High School class of 1970.

Ms. Carroll worked as a bookkeeper for C&S Beverage in Wilmington for more than 18 years and also worked for her brothers and family business as their bookkeeper. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Wilmington and was an avid reader. Her passions in life were her faith and cherished times spent with her family especially her grandchildren whom she idolized.

Ms. Carroll is survived by her children, Shane Crosby and his wife Maria, of Camp Hill, PA; Amy Crosby-Perham and her husband Robert Jr., of Newport, NH; and Megan LaFlam and her husband Sean, of Brattleboro; her mother, Lavern Corey, of Halifax; brothers, Alfred A. Corey and his wife Barbara, and Dennis N. Corey and his companion Henny Whalen, both of Halifax; sisters, Diana Hale and her husband Norman, and Patricia Kingsley and her husband Todd, both of Halifax; grandchildren Kayla, Annie, Nicholas, Felicia, Brooke, Makayla, Tyson, Brock, and Kailie, great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Sophia, and Hannah, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Alfred L. Corey. Funeral services for Ms. Carroll were held Thursday, May 15, at 11 am at the West Halifax Community Bible Church. Rev. Marc Monroe officiated. Interment followed in the family lot in Niles Cemetery in West Halifax.

Susan was one of the most beautiful souls I ever knew....gentle, soft spoken, and kind beyond measure.....she will be so sorely missed by so many and the Valley has lost someone irreplaceable....my heart goes out to her family and I want to express my deepest sorrow at her passing.....
