CONWAY, SC- John Lewis Andrews II, 59, of Conway, died Saturday, March 29, at his residence. He was born September 12, 1954, in Stoneham, MA, the son of John Lewis Andrews Sr. and Lillian Swaim Andrews of Bedford, MA, who survive him.

He attended schools in Bedford, and worked at a variety of jobs before moving to Vermont and starting his own successful excavating company which was active for over 20 years. He was an avid motorcyclist and was one of the founders of the Green Mountain motorcycle club with his good friend Bob Bardwell, who predeceased him. He enjoyed his retirement in South Carolina, hiking daily and riding his bicycle and motorcycle all year long. He looked forward to dressing up as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and giving out gifts to the local children.

Mr. Andrews is remembered dearly by the children he loved most in the world, Miranda Maya Andrews and John Eli Andrews, of Wilmington, VT. He is also in the hearts of his sisters, Debbie Scott and her husband Harry, and their sons, Dana, Matthew and Timothy, of Massachusetts; Beverly Valliere, and her children, David and Mary, of Atlanta; Joy Coonradt, her husband Brian, and their children Jacob, Brent and Victoria, of Massachusetts. as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially Kenny and Myrtle Swaim.

Mr. Andrews’ family would like his friends to join them for a Celebration of Life Service that will be held at 3 pm on Saturday April 4, at the Beaver Bar in Murrells Inlet.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Grace Chapel, Lexington, MA, on Friday, April 11, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Churches Assisting People Inc. 206 Main Street, Conway, SC 29526. He volunteered there for many years. Condolences and additional family information may be found at
