BRATTLEBORO- Spell Check! is a light-hearted spelling bee in a game show format, featuring emcee Tom Bodett, who weaves spelling words into silly sentences. Spelling is judged by our master adjudicator, Archer Mayor.

Teams are still forming. All it takes is three people who want to have a good time on the main stage of the glorious Latchis Theater. Go to LatchisArts.org for more details.

Here’s how it works: Three teams of three appear on the stage at once. A word is given, and each team writes it on their whiteboard, whereupon Judge Mayor determines correctness. Teams are out after two incorrect spellings. Play continues until one winning team emerges. Then the next set of three teams takes the stage. When all teams have played round one, there is a semifinal round. The bee culminates with the championship round.

Members on the winning team will each get a plush Latchis Hotel robe, a Latchis mug, their team name on the Latchis marquee, and all-important bragging rights as Spell Check! winners. Runners-up in the championship round will win Latchis movie and popcorn passes.
