She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 22, 1922. Her father was Philip G. Griffin. She was raised by Philip and his second wife Mary F. (Jordan) Griffin, after the death of her birth mother, Irene (Monahan) Griffin.
She was married for 69 years to Joseph P. Reagan, and was the mother of Paul (Jane), Phyllis (Al), John (Patti), and Betsy.
She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She lived for many years in Seaford, NY, before moving to Wilmington in 1983.
She was instrumental in the reopening of Dot’s restaurant in Wilmington in 1979 and the founding of Dot’s of Dover near Mount Snow.
Over the years she became a well-known figure in Wilmington and popular with visiting politicians. She was grateful for the wonderful friendships she developed and was proud of the many young people she befriended.
Visitation was held at Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, December 29. A mass of Christian death and burial was held on Monday, December 30, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Wilmington
