To the Editor,

The Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that as part of this year’s Bright Lights event, the Sylvania Corporation, CED Twin State Electric, and Efficiency Vermont have agreed to partner with us again to provide another LED replacement light bulb program for our towns. Two years ago these same companies, post-Irene, brightened our businesses with the amazing donation of over $50,000 worth of LED bulbs.

Importantly, this year’s bulb project will be open to residences as well as businesses and features the LED replacement bulb for a 60 watt incandescent or CFL, the most used bulb universally. These bulbs can be used inside or outside, contain no mercury, have an estimated lifetime duration of 23 years, can be used with a dimmer, have a warm light glow, and energy cost of approximately $1.45 per year. They retail for approximately $20 to $25 but will be available to our communities for only $5.95 each plus sales tax.

Applications for purchase will be available only at the chamber offices and purchase will be with credit card only. Businesses will also need to have their business ID numbers. The program will run from Monday, December 9, through Monday, December 23, and bulbs will be delivered throughout that period to the chamber offices for pick-up.

For any questions please call (802) 464-8092.

We would also like to thank all this year’s Bright Lights participants. The valley, from Readsboro to Wardsboro, is brighter and more festive for all your work. Please be sure to keep an eye out, too, for all the snowmen that are popping up throughout our towns. Happy, healthy, and bright holidays.
