FAIR HAVEN - Maudie (Ayers) Blackmer, 84, died Thursday, November 21.

She was born January 2, 1929, in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of William and Marie Selina Ayers.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flower gardening. She also enjoyed reading and listening to classic country music.

Survivors include her husband, John Blackmer, of Fair Haven; five children, Larry Slade and Willard Slade, both of Bondville, and Steven Slade, Carolynne Slade, and Laura Slade, all of Wardsboro; and three siblings, Marie Siddell and William Ayers Jr., both of Wardsboro, and June Shine, of Vernon. She is also survived by five of her six stepchildren, 11 of her 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
