A selectboard public hearing is scheduled for November 20 at 6:15 pm in the town hall meeting room to hear comments on proposed changes to the zoning ordinance. Wilmington property owners are encouraged to review proposed changes and come out to voice support or share your comments (drafts are posted on the town website). These zoning ordinance changes, guided by the town plan, will define future development in your town. We encourage Wilmington property owners to come out and play a role in the governance of your community.
Proposed Article II and the district’s map cover, among other things, types of districts, setback and dimensional requirements, Uses that can be pursued within each district requiring only a building permit (permitted uses), and uses that require a development review board decision as well as a permit (conditional uses). Proposed Article III covers performance standards applied to proposed uses. Appendix I addresses definitions.
The planning commission meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5 pm in the town hall meeting room, unless otherwise warned. The role of this committee is to propose zoning ordinance amendments to the selectboard. Join us at any meeting; they are open to the public. Be an informed and engaged part of the process.
