GREENFIELD, MA– Randy Smith and His Band of Merry Men will appear on Friday, November 23, at the Arts Block with an all-star cast to perform an acoustic show of original music from both his solo career and with the Vermont-based band8084. Elektra recording artist and member of the band New England Hirsh Gardner will open the show with a special guest appearance by local sensation Holly May Brown.

Smith, formerly of 8084, is a singer-songwriter based in Charlotte, NC. A Billboard and international award-winning musician, Smith has recorded six albums and toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada, performing over 4,500 live shows over the span of his career. The first 8084 self-titled album, which sold 10,000-plus units overseas, met with excellent critical acclaim in both North America and Europe. His resume includes working with Aldo Nova (Celine Dion, Jon Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper), sharing the stage or touring with Edgar Winter, Bobby Kimball (Toto), Rick Derringer, April Wine, Henry Lee Summer, Foghat, and Warrant to name a few.

The Band of Merry Men features fellow 8084 mates Gary Spaulding on percussion and Roy Brown on bass and vocals, as well as US Hall of Fame fiddler Scott Campbell and Long Island guitarist Rich Abel.

Gardner is a multitalented musician and songwriter. He is the drummer of the band New England . The band was best known for the song, “Don’t Ever Wanna Lose Ya,” which received heavy radio exposure on (AOR) stations and reached #40 on the Billboard Top 100 Chart in 1979. He has been voted Boston Record Producer of the Year and has produced such bands as Willie Nile, The Ramones, and 8084, to name a few.

SONO Group recording artist Brown is 16 years old and hails from western Massachusetts. In a very short time she has built a loyal following with a You Tube video of her song “Go Big or Go Home,” which has over 1 million views.
