To the Editor,

If you were at the third annual Deerfield Valley Food Pantry Benefit Motorcycle Ride two weeks ago, then you know what an awesome day we had.

We had 73 participants this year, nearly double last year’s figure. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, the ride down through Massachusetts and up to Mount Greylock and back was beautiful, the food at the Saloon was yummy, the vendors’ wares were unique, and the raffle prizes diverse and plentiful.

And the best news: We raised $3,393 for the food pantry.

Thank you to our event sponsors: Entergy Vermont Yankee, Valley View Saloon, and Valley Tees. Thanks to our vendors: Pipewrench Motorcycle Trailers and Accessories, The Jewelry Bar/Heather’s Flowers, and Deerfield Valley Monogramming. Thanks to our ride planner Dooley Boyd and our T-shirt designer, Judy Moore. Also to the local individual and businesses who donated our raffle prizes: 5Fish Woodworks, The Anchor, Bartleby’s Books, Blue Mountain Produce, Catamount Environmental, Crowley Cheese, Deerfield Valley Monogramming, Dot’s of Dover, Dover Forge, Far Beyond Woodworking, Fat City Dogs, Fat City Motor Worx, First Trax, Irene Godfrey, Hogback Mountain Gift Shop, Honora Winery, Howard’s Leather, The Incurable Romantic, Jacksonville Store, The Jewelry Bar/Heather’s Flowers, John McLeod LTD, Monadnock Harley-Davidson, Mount Snow, Nido’s Service Station, North Star Bowl and Mini Golf, Pipewrench Motorcycle Trailers and Accessories, River Valley Market, The Roadhouse, Sonny and Flo, Wheeler Farm, and Woodford Mountain General Store.

We are already in the preliminary planning stages for our fourth annual benefit ride next August, so if you have any suggestions to enhance our event, feel free to email me. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thank you to all who participated in and supported our event. You are truly awesome.

Deb Boyd
