WINDSOR, CT- Eldred “Al” H. Erickson, 82, died on Monday, August 26, at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Iron River, MI, on April 13, 1931, the son of the late Richard T. and Marie (Havelin) Erickson. He graduated from Iron River High School in 1949. Upon graduation, he spent four years in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He then entered Michigan Tech University, graduating in 1958 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a ski instructor on weekends at Ski Brule in Iron River during its first two years of operation (1956-1958). He joined Hamilton Standard Division of United Technologies Corp. in Windsor Locks, CT, as an engineer, retiring in 1988. While at Hamilton Standard, he also worked weekends as a ski instructor at Mount Snow for 15 years. He was a member of the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance.
