The Middle School Summer Recreation Program, for students entering grades 5-8, takes place at TVHS from July 1 through August 9, Monday through Friday. Programming occurs 9 to 12 daily. Students are welcome to eat a free supervised breakfast at 8:30 am before the day begins and may enjoy a free lunch at 12 pm at the end of the daily activities. The program is directed by Joanne Crosier, (802) 464-3427, and functions on a drop-in basis. Cost is $2 per day for WSSU students and $5 for nonresidents.
The town has revamped the elementary program. It has become a full day, running from 8 am through 4 pm. In order to share the TVHS site with the Wings Summer Program, the town of Wilmington will run its elementary program for only two more weeks in July.
From July 22 to 26 the theme will be Wacky Olympics. From July 29 to August 2, the theme for grades preschool through grade one will be Down on the Farm, and the theme for grades two and four will be Backyard Nature. The activities are directed by Jamie Brown (802) 464-8217. Preregistration is a must and is still open.
Brochures for both programs are available at the receptionist’s desk at the town office and at the chamber of commerce. Information is also available at www.wilmingtonvermont.us.
