To the Editor,

Sometime in May, someone helped themselves to about 230-250 gallons of fuel (kerosene) out of the tank at the West Wardsboro Baptist Church. You must have been very desperate to steal from a church. You can’t hide from God. He knows who you are. If anyone has any information about the incident, please send me a note at PO Box 187, West Wardsboro, VT, 05360 or contact the state police in Brattleboro as it was reported to them. It’s a very large chunk of change at $4.50 per gallon, around $1,100 worth. That doesn’t come very easy to a church.

Also on a different note, the West Wardsboro Baptist Church was approached about having a broad-band tower located in our belfry. We were willing to do it but suggested that there were places in town that would give more coverage for their investment. It was researched and found to be better. So they decided to move.

It was not refused as was reported in the March 20 Reformer, stated by V-Tel heads. I just wanted to set the record straight. Thank you

Bette Parsons
