READSBORO- Ever wanted to paint clouds on the ceiling of a child’s bedroom or create a mural in a bathroom? Come to this workshop to learn some basic faux painting techniques. Readsboro artist Mark Lowe will demonstrate the step-by-step process of painting a landscape with latex paint. Each participant will create a large-scale painting on paper to take home.

Lowe’s landscape murals have been displayed in St Joachim’s Church and the Readsboro Inn. Lowe painted the huge mural on the window coverings on the side of the Bullock Building. He also paints portraits and landscapes in acrylic, and sews furnishings and clothing. Celebrated for his costume designs and Halloween decorations, Lowe was the creative force behind last year’s Haunted House at the Bullock Building. His work has been exhibited in California and New England.

The workshop is Saturday, April 6, from 2 to 5 pm, and will be hosted by Debora Coombs at her stained glass studio. Cost is $30 and includes $5 for materials. Space is limited and preregistration is required. Call Mary Angus (802) 423-7706 to register.

Proceeds from ArtsMeet events support Readsboro Arts programming and the annual Arts Festival. For more information visit www.readsboroarts.org.
