Basketball camps return

DEERFIELD VALLEY- The 22nd annual Deerfield Valley Basketball Camp for boys and girls entering grades five through nine will be held from 1 to 4 pm at the Twin Valley Middle High School in Whitingham from Monday, June 25,  to Friday, June 29.  Hoop camp director is Buddy Hayford, and camp staff will include high school and college players.
The daily schedule includes the teaching of skills such as ball handling, shooting, dribbling, defending, passing, screening, and rebounding, all taught in a variety of situations.  The camp utilizes stations, contests, league play, one-on-one and three-on-three competitions, as well as the Noah shooting program.  All campers receive a custom designed T-shirt and basketball. In addition, campers at TVMHS will have the opportunity to use the newly acquired Dr. Dish for intensive shooting practice.
The second annual Wildcat Cub Basketball Camp will be held at the Old School in Wilmington from Friday, June 25, to Tuesday, June 29.  Boys and girls entering preschool to first grade will play from 8:30 to 9:30 am while those entering grades two to four will play from 9:30 am to12:30 pm.  These sessions are an introduction to the basic skills necessary to advance as a prospective player.
