The Stockwell Brothers are Vermont’s longest-running folk/bluegrass group. Bruce, Barry, and Alan Stockwell’s music spans traditional and progressive styles, but their trademark acoustic sound features new singer/songwriter material recast with banjo, alternative rhythms, and three-part harmonies.
They cover straight-ahead bluegrass songs, finger-picked acoustic guitar ballads, full-tilt breakdowns, and traditional mandolin tunes mixed in with unusual fare – Americana melodies riding world beat grooves and Celtic, jazzy, even neo-classical instrumentals.
As a trio, they have released two albums, “Stobro” and “Leave My Dreams Alone.” Individually, they also contribute to the fabric of music in southern Vermont in many ways.
Tickets, available in downtown Bellows Falls at Village Square Booksellers and Shona Grill, or on line brattleborotix.com are $18 in advance, $20 at the door; Angel tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
The Meeting House series will conclude on October 6 with Cliff Eberhardt.
