To the Editor:

The family of Bummy Allen would like to express sincere appreciation to family, friends, neighbors, and the community who offered assistance, support, and kindness at the time of his passing. Bummy was well-known and well-liked, which was evident by all the well wishes, phone calls, and notes of sympathy.

Special thanks to the following who went above and beyond to guide and assist the family when most needed: Halifax Fire and Rescue, Vermont State Police, Rev. Marcia Dorey, Marrillyn Courser, Irma Bartlett, and the members of the Hospitality Committee, Alan Bartlett and the Jacksonville Community Church, Rev. LePlante and to all those who prepared meals and baked goods and delivered them to the family.

We are grateful to live in a community of caring neighbors and friends. We miss Bummy. Your kindness helps us all get through each day. Thank you.
