EDGEWATER, FL- Robert E. Jalbert, 70, a state trooper for the Vermont State Police for 20 years before his retirement, died Saturday, December 1, at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Southeast Volusia Care Center.

Mr. Jalbert was born in Winchester, NH, lived in East Dover, VT for many years, and moved to Florida 17 years ago from Rutland, VT. He was a member of Atlantic Coast Community Church, New Smyrna Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn E. Jalbert; three sons, Peter Jalbert, of Summerville, SC, Robert E. Jalbert Jr., of Colorado Springs, CO, and William Jalbert, of Rutland; two daughters, Constance Morgan, of Nantucket, MA, and Karen Valach of Proctor, VT; four brothers, Mike Hescock, Edward Hescock, Kevin Hescock, and Douglas Jalbert, all of Vermont; 11 grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.

Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. A memorial service will be scheduled at Atlantic Coast Community Church at a later date.
