Wilmington- Lensey “Buzz” Lester Cole, 82, a resident of Corbat Road, died Saturday, November 11, at his home.

Mr. Cole was born in Bennington on September 23, 1935, the son of Albert and Margaret (Round) Cole, and attended local schools.

Throughout his life, Mr. Cole worked as a stone mason, property caretaker, school bus driver, and was owner-operater of a lawn care business and the Misty Mountain Lodge for over 43 years.

Mr. Cole served his country as a member of the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the Wilmington Lions Club and an accomplished singer, and self-taught banjo and guitar player. He enjoyed motorcycling, mowing with his tractor, and traveling with his family.

Mr. Cole is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Berkhimer) Cole whom he married March 18, 1978 in Livingston, NJ; children Matthew Cole and his wife Laurie, of Wilmington, L. Allen Cole and his wife Meredith, of Colorado; Dana Cole and Susan Groesbeck, of Arlington; and Rebecca Sweeney and her husband David, of Wilmington; brother-in-law Robert Perkins; sister-in-law Rosemary Cole; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Pelletier, who died June 18, 1971; brother Albert Cole; and sisters Margaret Vancini and Thelma Perkins.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, November 17, at 1 pm at the West Dover Congregational Church. Interment will be private.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 16, from 5 to 7 pm at Covey, Allen & Shea Funeral Home, 44 East Main Street.
