SARASOTA, FL- John Frederick Carrier Sr., 70, formerly of Readsboro, VT, died at his residence on October 24 following a lengthy battle with heart and kidney failure. He was born on Janurary 24, 1942, in North Adams, MA, son of the late John T. and Florence Canedy Carrier. Following graduation from Whitingham High School he enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Enterprise off the coast of Vietnam.

He married Cheryl Ann Palmer on October 3, 1964, and had three children. He married Catherine “Cathie” (Royle) Wroblewski on March 27, 1993 in Sarasota. He was a very active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed time with family, parties and watching NASCAR and football. He always maintained a sense of humor even during his last days. Father, brother, grandfather, gruncle, uncle, and friend. He is survived and will be missed dearly by sister Sarah Ruebesam and brother Park Carrier Sr., and wife Dodie, of Readsboro; sons, John F.Carrier, Jr., of West Dover, Jerome Carrier, of Sarasota;daughter and son-in-law Jollene and Joseph Mahon, of West Dover; step children Mark and Peggy Wroblewski, of Wesley Chapel, Paul Wroblewski, of Sarasota; grandchildren James and Jillian Mahon, of West Dover, Brian and Crystal Wroblewski and William Wroblewski, of Sarasota, FL, Stephen and Amy Wroblewski, of Bonita Springs, Debra and Chad Thompson, of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren as well as close nephews and nieces. His parents and beloved wife Cathie preceeded him in death.

A celebration of life will occur on November 10 at the Readsboro Baptist Church at 11 am as well as in Sarasota in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota.
