To the Editor,

The Board of Directors of the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry would like to extend our appreciation to the individuals, organizations, and businesses that help us provide supplemental food to those in need in our surrounding communities.

First of all, a hearty thank you to all the members of the Wilmington area Cub Scouts, under the direction of Shannon Trumble, who carried out a food drive and, then helped to shelve the collected food items.

Next, a sincere thank you to Shaw’s supermarket for conducting a holiday food drive which provided our pantry with a large amount of food staples. Also, their purchasing department assists us with obtaining food items for our clients.

And, finally, we thank Wilmington Cup ‘N’ Saucer, Blue Mountain Produce, Aldi’s Food Market in Brattleboro, and Henrys’ Food Market in Bennington for assisting us in purchasing food items on a monthly basis.

And let us not forget to thank the Dover School students who visit the pantry on a monthly basis and help with a variety of chores.

Helping our neighbors is a community effort and we at the food pantry are so very thankful for your continuing support.

Irene Godfrey

On behalf of the the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry Board of Directors
