It all kicks off at the Snow Barn, southern Vermont’s favorite live music venue, with Backside Night on Thursday at 4 pm. Backside Night is back with drink specials and $1 raffles for a chance to win awesome prizes and all the proceeds go to the Adaptive Sports program at Mount Snow. Enjoy half-priced pizza while watching the latest ski and snowboard movies. The raffle drawing will take place around 8 pm, before the DJ hits the stage to spin live music for the rest of the night.
The Snow Barn will host three nights of music, all starting at 9 pm, with Totally Submerged on Friday, Pink Talking Fish playing a night of Bowie on Saturday, and Roots of Creation on Sunday. Mount Snow Sports at The Grand will host a wine and cheese party on Sunday night before Mount Snow’s famous torchlight parade and fireworks.
The weekend also features the second installment in the ever-popular Grommet Jam Series, in which kids 12 and under compete in a jam format contest on the beginner park Grommet, in a friendly low-pressure environment. With just 70 spots available, parents are urged to register kids in advance, as this event does sell out.
MLK Weekend marks the second weekend of operations for Mount Snow’s newest après destination, Canned. Located in the Main Base Lodge, this new bar has already proven to be a hit among guests and locals alike by serving up cans of craft brews and ciders made in Vermont.
